Operation key points of disposable polymer tissue clip in general surgery (Part 1)

Disposable polymer tissue closure clips, also known as Hem-o-lok clips, have a wide range of applications in general surgery, especially in lumpectomy. The following are the specifications for its use in general surgery applications:

I. Scope of application

Disposable plastic-type tissue closure clips are suitable for ligation and anastomosis of blood vessels and tissues in general surgery, including but not limited to:

Appendectomy

Cholecystectomy

Colon resection

Splenectomy

II. Preparation before use

Check the package: Make sure that the package of the closure clip is intact and in a sterile condition. If the package is damaged or expired, it should not be used.

Choose the appropriate clip: According to the surgical site and the thickness of the blood vessels or tissues, choose the appropriate clip specifications. Disposable polymer tissue closure clips have a wide ligature range of up to 16mm and are suitable for thicker tubes or tissues.

Prepare the clamping forceps: Make sure that the clamping forceps are compatible with the closure clamps and that the clamping forceps are in good working condition.

Ⅲ.Steps for use

Attachment of the clamp: Securely attach the closure clamp to the concave teeth of the applicator jaws, ensuring that the direction of the clamp latch (A→B) is toward the operator, so that it is easy to observe whether any foreign material or excess tissue is hooked or entrapped when the clamp is latched.

Positioning the clip: Insert the applicator forceps and clip together into the surgical site, ensuring that the clip is correctly placed on the vessel or tissue to be ligated.
